HOT-SHOT, Reece Connolly was amongst the goalscorers as ‘Boro secured an away tie at Blue Square Premier outfit, Woking in the FA Carlsberg Trophy with a 3-2 victory over Truro City last weekend.

“It’s a great draw for us,” said the 20 year-old. “These are the sort of games that you want to be involved in.

“I’m really buzzing for it and it will be a good occasion for the players and supporters, who are sure to travel there in good numbers.

“We know that we can play better than we did against Truro in the previous round. We made it harder than it actually was by missing a number of chances, particularly in the first half.

“I should have scored earlier in the game, but it was nice to get one towards the end to seal the tie.”

The game was tinged with controversy when some of the floodlights failed. “It only really affected the one corner of the pitch,” added the Aldershot Town man. “There were one or two of their players having a bit of a moan, but the referee did the right thing as the light was good enough for the game to continue.

“It also saved Truro having to travel all the way here again. It wasn’t a problem really.”
