‘Boro closed off their pre season campaign with a 2-1 away win at Southern League Premier outfit St Neots Town.

The ‘Boro starting line up included three trialists, midfielder Medi who played against the Brighton & Hove Albion XI on Wednesday night was joined by Polish duo Michal Steinke and Jacek Magdzinski.

‘Boro enjoyed the lions share of possesion in the first half and went in at the break two goals to the good, Phil Page slotting home a penalty on the half an hour mark after one of those decisions which you would have felt was harsh if it was given against you.

Page added his and ‘Boro’s second seven minutes later, when Medi pressurised the St Neots back line into an error, and the ‘Boro striker slotted home from distance.

Just after the hour mark, St Neots pulled one back, Bradshaw initially doing well in reading a intercepting a through ball, but after a mazy run, his clearance only found a St Neots player who accurately clipped the ball into the empty net.

It was a much improved performance for ‘Boro ahead of the seasons opener against Dover Athletic on Saturday, although the squad is still a little short on numbers, and Spencer Day will take the opportunity to make his final cut on Tuesday when the First team take on a mixture of reserve team and trialists at Cherrywood Road.

Supporters are more than welcome to attend the game which will be 40 minutes each way, kicking off at 7.45pm, and at 9.30pm, Day will be holding a Fans Q&A in the Platinum Lounge bar.
