‘BORO’s preparations for Saturday’s FA Trophy first round tie at Woking are well underway with manager, Spencer Day looking forward to pitting his wits against The Cards.

Woking have adapted well to life in the Blue Square Premier following their promotion at the end of last term.

“It’s a fantastic draw for us,” said Day. “Strangely I did predict it before the draw was made and it is something for us to really look forward to.

“They have settled into life in the Conference Premier very well. They are a fantastic club and the signings that they were able to make last week [John Nutter on loan from Lincoln City and Jayden Stockley on loan from AFC Bournemouth] puts it into perspective exactly how tough it’s going to be for us.

“We have to be realistic and say that we are big underdogs going into the game, but we are in a fantastic place on the pitch at the moment and if we play well and they don’t hit the heights, then who knows what could happen?

“The players are really looking forward to pitting their wits against them and we will prepare correctly this week and see where it takes us.”
