Farnborough Football Club is pleased to confirm a home, pre season friendly against npower League Two neighbours Aldershot Town.

The match will take place on Tuesday 17th July 2012, kick off at 7.45pm

This is against an Aldershot Town first team which forms part of the agreement that saw striker Bradley Bubb join the Shots last summer.

Since the inception of Aldershot Town in 1992 the clubs have participated in 17 competitive matches both Farnborough Town and Farnborough including Isthmian League and Conference competitions.

The most memorable fixture was played in March 1993 when nearly 6000 packed into the Recreation Ground for a Hampshire Senior Cup semi final. Farnborough winning by the odd goal in five which included a brace from Jamie Horton.

Last season’s pre season friendly saw a 4-0 success for Dean Holdsworth’s men which included goals from Adam Mekki and Reece Connolly (pictured) , the latter who spent a period on loan at the Rushmoor Stadium during the 2011/12 campaign where he netted 16 goals in 34 appearances.

Previous games between the clubs have always been highly entertaining and as a “local derby” it certainly adds that extra edge that always makes these fixtures a not to be missed event.
Further details regarding this fixture including admission prices will be announced in due course.
